This plan provides essential medical and health insurance for students from abroad studying full-time in Canada for only $470 a year or $1.45 a day. This plan is underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance.

Plan Benefits*

    Basic Medical Benefits

  • Hospital benefits; up to overall coverage limit
  • Medical, surgical and diagnostic benefits; up to overall coverage limit (except limit of $10,000 on private duty nursing)
  • Ground ambulance; up to overall coverage limit
  • Emergency air ambulance transportation when approved in advance by the insurer; up to overall coverage limit

  • Extended Medical Benefits

  • One general check-up in a 12 month period; limit of $100 (180 days coverage must be purchased)
  • Prescription drugs when prescribed for an emergency; to a limit of a 30-day supply
  • Specialists (speech therapist, physiotherapist, chiropractor, chiropodist, osteopath, naturopath, acupuncturist or podiatrist) when deemed essential by the attending physician; to a maximum of $500 per policy per practitioner
  • Psychiatric treatment on an emergency basis; limit of $10,000 inpatient or $1,000 outpatient
  • Trauma counseling within 90 days following a covered loss; limit of six counseling sessions
  • Psychologist; up to $500 for outpatient consultations
  • One eye examination within a 12-month period; limit of $100 (180 days coverage must be purchased)
  • Maternity coverage: up to $1,000 for emergency or non-emergency treatment; excludes childbirth and voluntary termination. Pregnancy must commence after the effective date and no benefits are payable within nine weeks of the expected delivery date.
  • Accidental dental treatment; up to $4,000
  • Emergency non-accidental dental treatment; up to $600
  • Extraction of impacted wisdom teeth; up to $100 per tooth

    Transportation, Death & Other Benefits

  • Family transportation to the insured's bedside when deemed necessary by the attending physician; limit of $5,000
  • Early return to country of origin when deemed necessary by the attending physician; limit of $5,000
  • Repatriation of remains; limit of $10,000
  • Burial or cremation at place of death; limit of $5,000
  • Accidental death & dismemberment insurance; limit of $15,000
  • Air Flight/Common Carrier accident insurance; limit of $100,000
